Me gustaría que mi madre estuviera aquí, ella que solía emocionarse y llorar leyendo los poemas de Amado Nervo y de Pablo Neruda, y también el abuelo Pedro, de gran nariz y calva reluciente, que celebraba mis versos, y el tío Lucho que tanto me animó a volcarme en cuerpo y alma a escribir aunque la literatura, en aquel tiempo y lugar, alimentara tan mal a sus cultores. Toda la vida he tenido a mi lado gentes así, que me querían y alentaban, y me contagiaban su fe cuando dudaba. Gracias a ellos y, sin duda, también, a mi terquedad y algo de suerte, he podido dedicar buena parte de mi tiempo a esta pasión, vicio y maravilla que es escribir, crear una vida paralela donde refugiarnos contra la adversidad, que vuelve natural lo extraordinario y extraordinario lo natural, disipa el caos, embellece lo feo, eterniza el instante y torna la muerte un espectáculo pasajero.

Sé que debo alguna explicación, pero hoy no va a ser el día en que la voy a dar. Todo va bien, simplemente he dejado de darle peso alguno al blog en mi vida. Le dedico mucho menos tiempo y esfuerzo. Lo siento por los que puedan echar de menos el ritmo de actualización que tenía antes. Me da algo de lástima haberlo desatendido así pero ahora mis prioridades son otras.

En cualquier caso, he actualizado las secciones “Leyendo” y “Viendo“, que las tenía abandonadas.

Han pasado muchísimas cosas este verano, a ver si voy sacando tiempo y ganas y os las cuento.

Interesante novela acerca de un agente del MI6 que vive su declive profesional en un despacho londinense, con muchas cuentas pendientes con su pasado. Me he gustado mucho la historia, pero lo que realmente me ha llamado la atención, una vez terminada, es la vida de su autor, el escritor británico Graham Greene. Un señor muy interesante.

Trivia: acabo de leer que Kim Philby fue uno de sus jefes en el MI6, aunque aseguraba que el personaje de Castle en “El factor humano” no estaba basado en él. También he encontrado este mapa de localizaciones de la novela. Curioso.
