My (terrible) experience renting a car from Green Motion (London – Edgware Rd branch)


  • I rented a car with Green Motion through Economy Bookings,¬†from: 2015-06-12, 17:00, to: 2015-06-15, 08:00, to be picked up and returned in their Edgware Rd office.
  • When I picked the car up, it was given to me with 3/4 of gas, just washed outside, and not particularly well inside. The damages review was done quickly and the contract was signed.
  • The weekend went well, and I returned the car (almost full of gas) on Sunday night (2015-06-14, around 22:30), parking it inside the parking of the Hilton Metropole hotel, from within they operate. I checked the car twice, and I didn’t have any issue whatsoever while driving the car, so when I left it I was positive than no damage had been done to it while I had it.
  • I didn’t hear anything from them on Monday in the whole day, so I even forgot about it.
  • I got the next email on Tuesday afternoon:



  • I replied to this email, and got no answer. I complaint on Twitter and got feedback from @GreenMotion. We exchanged private messages and they were very friendly, redirecting me to a centralised email inbox to follow up my complain.

  • But all they did was redirect this email to the branch staff, which are absolutely useless, and came back to me like this:


  • They ignored my questions, proceeded with the charge and, to summarise, made me feel not only robbed but laughed at.

Why am I writing this? To be honest, to make Google aware of how crappy these guys service is, hoping that at least one person reads this and decides not to go with them. I, myself, made a huge mistake not reading their Google + reviews, which are an absolute gem and made me feel like I’m not alone here. Some of them:



I only wish I would have read this before. Other branches, though, seem to receive less complains. I wonder if someone is just a plain irresponsible professional in the¬†Edgware Rd branch…

Anyway, once and never again. As some of the comments say, I felt robbed (I was?) and resourceless confronting such nerve and bad service. Don’t do the same mistake, avoid Green Motion.
